Our Recruitment and Retention Committee

The Trent Hills Physician Recruitment and Retention Committee is a mix of solid medical and business professionals. Funded by the Municipality and the Hospital, the group is committed to ensuring new physicians feel at home and have the support they need to get established, whether transitioning to full-time practice or to a one-week locum.

Physicians may also wish to take advantage of our 'Partner Employment Assistance Program' if a family member is transitioning to employment outside our hospital setting.  This Program puts new and potential recruits in contact with our community business professionals and does the networking for them.  Our goal is a smooth transition for physicians and their families.

In 2006, the Committee produced an award-winning DVD, "Portraits of Rural Practice." To receive a complete "Physician Information Package", please contact:

It's Here!  Our CT Scanner is in its new home at CMH

Queen's University & Trent Hills

The Committee is pleased to announce that Queen's University's Family Medicine Program is now placing second year resident physicians in Trent Hills.  The culmination of a three-year Committee effort, our first resident from the Program arrived in mid-September, for a four month rotation with Dr. Brett Jamieson, at the Warkworth Medical Centre.    Please visit the following news link:

Committee holds Planning Workshop


Almost 30 participants put in a full day at our Workshop to assist the Committee in planning future recruitment strategies.  The agenda included presentations from physicians, the local Family Health Team and an update on provincial initiatives from HealthForce Ontario (HFO). HFO rep Abby Leavitt is pictured at left with Committee member Lew Dunk.  The Workshop was also the first opportunity to use some of the marketing materials the Committee produced this year.  This latest marketing initiative was supported by  a grant from The Campbellford /Seymour Community Foundation.  Foundation Executive Director Martha Murphy was also in attendance at the Workshop, pictured below left with Dr. Bob Henderson.  For more information on the Foundation visit:
