Ontario Breast Screening Program
CMH is affiliated with the Ontario Breast Screening Program (OBSP). The program provides mammography, clinical examination of the breasts by a nurse examiner and one-on-one demonstration of breast self-examination to women aged 50 and over. Affiliation with the OBSP assists in making a very valuable service available locally.
In collaboration with the Haliburton, Kawartha Pine Ridge District Health Unit, we are promoting community awareness, reducing barriers with a goal of increasing the level of use of the OBSP and decreasing breast cancer.
To be eligible for the Ontario Breast Screening Program, a woman must:
- Be 50 or over
- Not have had a mammogram in the past year
- Have no history of breast cancer or other current symptoms of a breast problem
- Have no breast implants
