Community and Municipal Engagement Findings

As part of the early planning process for a new Campbellford Memorial Hospital (CMH) and Campus of Care, hospital officials have been meeting with residents, community organizations, Indigenous representatives and municipal leaders from across the region to better understand their healthcare needs, priorities and hopes for the future.

Through public information sessions, community presentations, municipal council meetings and other engagement opportunities, more than 500 participants shared their thoughts on what they value about CMH today and what they would like to see in a new hospital.

The feedback revealed strong support for the redevelopment project, with participants identifying improved access to healthcare services closer to home, expanded Emergency Department capacity, enhanced diagnostic and outpatient services, and improved patient and family experiences among their priorities. Just as importantly, participants emphasized the need to preserve the compassionate, community-focused care that has long defined CMH.

The findings have been compiled into a comprehensive What We Heard: Community and Municipal Engagement Findings report, which will help inform the next stages of planning for the new hospital and Campus of Care.
